Which cookies and similar browser storage taia.io uses today, who sets them and what they are for.

The short version

taia.io uses cookies and browser storage for analytics (PostHog), for marketing attribution and our chat and forms tool (EngageBay), and to remember a few choices you make on the site. We don't run advertising pixels and we don't sell your data. The full list is below.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device (computer, phone, tablet) when you visit them. Local storage and session storage do a similar job inside your browser. This page covers all three, and calls them cookies for short where the difference doesn't matter.

  • Session: Deleted when you close the browser or tab
  • Persistent: Stays on your device for a set period or until you delete it
  • First-party: Set by taia.io or its subdomains (Taia)
  • Third-party service: A script from another company that runs on our pages and sets its own cookies or storage

2. What We Store on Your Device

This list was checked in a browser on September 29, 2026, on the home page, the pricing page and the page with the translation demo. If a name here is missing on your device it's usually because the item is only set in a particular situation, as noted.

2.1 Analytics

We use PostHog (EU-hosted) to see how the site is used: which pages are visited, what people click, and where visitors arrive from. It may also record how you move through a page (session replay) where we have that switched on. PostHog honours the Do Not Track setting in your browser: if it's on, PostHog doesn't track your visit.

Holds an anonymous visitor ID, a session ID, where you first arrived from and any campaign tags or ad click ID you arrived with, so page views and clicks can be grouped into visits. Shared with translate.taia.io so a visit can be followed from the website into the app.

2.2 Marketing and Attribution

Attribution. If you arrive from a campaign link, including an ad, we save the tags and click ID in that link for 30 days after your last visit from a campaign link. If you later sign up at translate.taia.io, they are passed along with the signup so we know which campaign it came from. The same details are also sent to PostHog.

taia_utm_params

Only set when you arrive from a campaign link. Saves the campaign tags in the link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content) and any ad click ID it carries (gclid, gbraid, wbraid, oppref, msclkid), so we can tell which campaign brought you and pass that on if you sign up. The utm_ tags are removed from the address bar once saved; ad click IDs are left in place.

2.4 Other Services on Our Pages

  • Cloudflare delivers the site. Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot check behind our forms, loads on our pages, and Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page loads. On our checks none of them stored anything on the device, but Cloudflare may set security cookies such as __cf_bm if it needs to verify a visitor. Read more: Cloudflare Cookie Policy
  • Fonts and images are served from taia.io itself, not from a third party.
  • Links to YouTube, LinkedIn and other social sites are ordinary links. They set nothing until you click through, and then their own policies apply.

Signing in and paying happen in the app at translate.taia.io, which has its own cookies for that. This page covers taia.io only.

3. How We Use This Information

We use the items above to:

  • Understand the site: see which pages help and which don't, and fix what is broken
  • Measure marketing: tell which campaigns bring visitors and signups, and report signups back to the ad platform where a click ID is present (currently ChatGPT Ads)
  • Talk to you: run the chat widget and forms, and recognise a returning visitor
  • Remember your choices: currency, billing cycle and the demo upload

We don't sell your data.

4. Managing Cookies

4.1 Browser Settings

You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser at any time. Deleting them resets the items above; the site keeps working, though you may lose your currency choice and the chat history. Blocking scripts, for example with a content blocker, stops the PostHog and EngageBay items from being set.

4.2 Checking What Is Stored

To see what is stored on your device for taia.io:

  • Chrome/Edge: Press F12 → Application tab → Cookies → taia.io
  • Firefox: Press F12 → Storage tab → Cookies → taia.io
  • Safari: Develop menu → Show Web Inspector → Storage → Cookies

Local storage and session storage are listed in the same panel, under their own headings.

5. Do Not Track (DNT)

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. Our PostHog setup respects it and doesn't track visits that carry it. EngageBay and our campaign attribution cookie don't check for it.

6. Changes to This Page

We'll update this page when we add, remove or change a script that stores something on your device, and change the "Last Updated" date at the top.
